Description
Imagine not knowing where to get clean water for your family. Help the Makuyuni community with water re-claimation!
The Makuyuni community and Nashipay Maasai School are facing growing water scarcity driven by declining rainfall, rising temperatures, and the over‑extraction of groundwater, where pumping often exceeds natural recharge. To help address this challenge, FTLOA is supporting Phase 1 of a water‑reclamation project that will install guttering and rainwater‑capture systems for the dormitory, kitchen, and dining hall. Completion of this initial phase will establish the essential infrastructure needed for subsequent phases, which will expand the capacity to harvest and store significantly more rainwater during the rainy seasons—providing a critical buffer during the long, dry months when water is most scarce.
